Reynolda Discovery Lesson - Exploring the Andes: A Creative Journey Inspired by Church’s Art

Reynolda Discovery Lessons promote reading readiness and visual literacy for preschoolers through dramatic play, music, movement, and artmaking, using a work of art or item from Reynolda's collection as a starting point. The program will take place indoors and outdoors. Advance registration is required.  Single-session classes are for 3-5 year olds and a caregiver.

Classes will take place in Lewisville at the Mary Alice Warren Community Center.

 

Exploring the Andes: A Creative Journey Inspired by Church’s Art

Young children will embark on a thrilling adventure through the stunning landscapes of the Andes, brought to life by Frederic Edwin Church’s Andes of Ecuador. This interactive experience will explore the beauty of the towering mountains, lush valleys, and vibrant ecosystems he captured in this painting. Through hands-on activities, creative play, and exciting stations, children will learn about the natural world Church portrayed while discovering the significance of his work and the landscapes that inspired him.
